Brett Longo received his first Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from California State University of Fresno in 1989. He continued his education in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in biomechanics. He wrote his master’s thesis on the Temporal, Kinematic, and Anthropometric Dimensions of the Hip and Shoulders During the Baseball Swing as Viewed in the Transverse Plane. He graduated with honors from Fresno State and transferred his studies to Physical Therapy at California State University of Long Beach. In 1994, he became licensed in the State of California as a Physical Therapist and started working in the Orthopedic Outpatient setting. He decided to travel throughout the Continental US as a Physical Therapist taking on Orthopedic positions in New Jersey, New Mexico, Colorado and Washington.
In 1997, he decided to settle in the Greater San Diego area. In 2004, He formed a staffing company in 2004 for Home Health agencies. In 2006 and 2007, he became certified with Titleist Performance Institute as a Medical and Fitness instructor. He has studied extensively in manual therapeutics, outpatient orthopedics, balance, and body work. He continues to study and is currently working on attaining his Certification in Strength and Conditioning from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
He is now 59 and understands the physiological differences active aging brings. He carefully considers each treatment and training plan to make sure each exercise and therapeutic technique does not risk individuals of injury. Whereas we once trained to perform as an athlete, we now train to last.
