Hitting Lab
Power. Flexibility. Coordination.
Where Science meets the Art of Hitting
At Hitting Lab, we evaluate two swings; Golf and/or Baseball/Softball.
Although we aren’t PGA Pros, we do cater to the Physical Side of your Golf &/or Baseball/Softball Swing. To consistently strike the ball well, it requires 3 things; 1) Strength or what we like to call power, 2) Flexibility and 3) Coordination (this is why the PGA Pros make it look so effortless).
At Hitting Lab you are evaluated in all three areas to see where you are deficient.
Likewise, as a Baseball Player, hitting requires the ability to “read and rake” a pitch. Release, Shape, Speed and Location all must be determined within a fraction of a second. The faster the pitch can be identified, the more time the player has to swing. They say scouts look to see how a batter takes to determine if they have the ability to read a pitch. Players who lay off or “spit” on pitches out of the zone are those who move on. At Hitting Lab, we help players identify the pitch by way of release and shape, then we work hard to make sure they have no flaws in their swing so when they do pull the trigger, balls are barreled, and damage is done.
Finally, we teach young baseball hitters what it means to have an approach to their at bat. An approach can be as simple as taking on 1-0 and 3-0 to as complex as eliminating pitches they know the pitcher is having a difficult time locating so they can key in on pitches the pitcher has command of. Of course, knowing how many outs and how many players on base also dictate a player’s approach.
Brett Longo is a certified Golf Fitness and baseball hitting Instructor. If you are a golfer over the age of 50 and feel your driving distance is declining, we can help.
If you are a young baseball player struggling to produce power or just want to be more consistent with your plate appearances, we can help.
Our hitting lab consists of a physical evaluation of your body based on the demands of your game and a 3D analysis of your power production. Want to know more about how you can have your swing analyzed?
